B&M Oil Pan & Factory Tech Valve Body

Just installed the two of them and was wondering just how many quarts I was supposed to have put in.

I followed all the instructions, drove it while manually shifting, got it to operating temps ect.

Total NEW fluid added 11qts of Mercon.

Does that sound about right?

This is something i saved for when i install mine,, i beleive this is with just a regular deep sump trans pan that the tuners sell. These are clonetek's instructions based upon his install. Only difference i could think of is that the B&M tranny pan probably holds more fluid,, how much more i'm not so sure, but i know it does hold more.

dude.. i wondered the same thing about installing the valve body and new pan.. it's totally EASY!!!

all you need are a few hand tools and 2 torque wrenches.

jack the truck up and put on jack stands.
punch hole in old tranny pan. (i didn't want to at first, but its a lot easier this way)
drain all fluid out into a catch pan
pull the tranny pan off (save the reusable gasket)
pull the old pickup tube off (watch out for falling tranny fluid!!! it almost got me!) lol
unbolt valve body.

thats it!

now put new valve body on & torque to specs.
put in new pickup tube.
reuse gasket and bolt new tranny pan on (reuse the magnet if the new pan doesnt have one. just wipe it off)
torque pan to correct specs..

lower truck & put in 5-6 qts of tranny fluid (ford dextron/merconIII)
start truck and manually shift into each gear several times
check fluid. (add if needed)
drive truck around in each gear (even reverse) and check fluid again. (add if needed)

you're finished!

i'm a slowpoke & it took me under 2 hours to finish!
