Maybe this will help. I just spoke to Jim at JDM, and he said that Eaton is not building thier blower. It's a different company. So what I said about Eaton not building M166's is true. However, what Jim is going to be offering is being done elsewhere.

Allright, Lets just get it over with.....

Whip it out and lets see who measures up, that's all it is anyway, a slong measuring contest. Tuners and their subjects.

I'm having fun reading these bashing posts, keep it up, good entertainment.

It's all about pimpin for this black beast, as shown

Sal,

I coulda swore that Jim had already stated Eaton wasn't making it (I think Magnusson was mentioned) on one of the other umpteen thousand posts about the M166.

Regardlesss, until I can get the greenbacks to build a bottom end, I'm not even LOOKING at a new blower. Hurry up and get the truck running again, I wanna see a 10 sec slip from a 4800lb brick. That will hurt some LS1 feelings.

I don't know why all you guys are so worried about your motors looking stock? open you engine compartment and anybody who knows anything is going to know that its moded if they have half a brain! Screw these roots blowers, you guys can have fun playing around with your little 20 PSI. I'm going for the Novi 2000, 30 PSI +!!!!!! Will it look stock, HELL NO! but my chits going to haul some major donkey ***** too!

Question

So what is the deal with the Kenne Bell? What are the benefits of using this blower?

Jim posted pictures of a rear entry on 9/4/2001:

http://www.forums.svtperformance.com...?threadid=6499

In the thread he says:

"I will be pulling the one off the 99 and will post pictures top and bottom. "

I couldn't find these pictures. I also wonder why he is now saying:

"The 166 does exsist.
I have been testing them.
We have had a couple of issues that have set us back on the delivery date.
One is tunning for them.
It would probably take me 150 to 200 hours to do a full scale tune.
This would be at every RPM and MPH.
This is one of my reasons why I am not to anxious to push them out the door, for the calibrations that are out there right now, no matter of which tunner, it will blow your rods out.
Especially on the 01's and the 02's. "

He's had one on his '99 since 9/4/01 and he doesn't have a proper tune for it yet?????

Per the MM&FF tests, the Kenne Belle produces less heat and more boost with the same size pulley as an Eaton. Of course their tests were done running it against the smaller Eaton, mot the M112. I am waiting for someone to bolt one on an L and post actual performance gains.

There we all go.

CornerCarver - yes Jim said that a while ago, I remember even talking to him about it. I think Sal's point is that he just personally spoke with Jim about it, meaning it's better to believe the source then spoken words and rumours from a middle man source.
