btw, the topic was supposed to read HAND PORTED!...but I am a moron


I had Paul (TZRIDER) send me one of his ported T/B's and hand port the upper intake plenum. DAYUM! looks great, easy and very cost efficient upgrade....He is also one of the best guys I have delt with, always ready to answer a question (trust me I asked a MILLION of them).
I have pics of the t/b and plenum if anybody would like to see them. I notice a pretty good SOTP gain, unfortunatly our dyno was hijacked by ricers this weekend....(didn't have enough bullets to get em all) I will post dyno numbers as soon as I can.

I took mine off and looked at it closer with it all connected to the tb and nitrous plate! WOW theres allot of room for some porting work on that bad boy!!! I'm having my buddy do mine but when he did yours, how smooth are you guys making the finish on the inside. Like a polish or just a somewhat smooth casting look to it. Do you know how much he took off the inside? I'm thinking atleast 3/8's of an inch all the way around.

Also, did you do the stock TB? I'm going to have the SVO one done, theres a good 1/16 of an inch that could be ported on there I bet.

 

I had Paul do the stock t/b and it looks really good, response is great! There was A LOT of material removed from the upper intake plenum, although I don't think you want to go too thin (heat). I will send out pics when I get home from work! Oh yeah, you don't want to polish it to a mirror finish, it's pretty smooth tho. I think if you polish it too much then it really doesn't flow well(not like head work here).
