Porting/polishing intake
I saw some pics a while back from someone who had done some porting[grinding away of excess material]on their intake.I have a Dremel Moto-tool and posess fairly competant mechanical ability. Is this a "do-it-yourself job?Is is of any benefit with the stock t/b in place or would I want to get an aftermarket unit?Anybody have Dyno #'s with actual gains?Thx in advance!

I was wondering if anyone would ever notice my teaser photo of the carbon fiber tube. Just something I was playing with. It's actually part of the intake from my BMW. I don't have any pre-porting photos, however I do have the stock intake and will take some and post. They are very rough inside.

Here are some intake photos you can review.
Stock adapter cut open no cleanup.
Here is a view down the throat of the stock adapter. Gee Wiz what do I see flashing on the inside from machining the vacuum ports in. Does anyone remember this mantra "Quality is Job #1"? Yea sure!
Final view. Just say Ah. This is the Extrude-Honed adapter.
