Angry Bad Night!!!

Well I finally found out why everyone said to get traction bars with a lowered truck..... Just when your about to order them your driveshaft decides to snap in half while the truck is at WOT shiffting into 3rd gear. Destroyed the gas tank, and the bassani exhaust from what I could see. I didn't have a flashlight to see up under the truck plus i didn't feel like climbing in gas Good thing it happened right donw the street from my house and not at the track. Tommorow morning I will take a better look and see what is really going on under there........ Traction bars are definately on the way!!!

From the sounds of it, you didn't have a d/s loop either. That's a good investment if any. Good thing that it didn't catapult the truck, which is very possible, and deadly at "WOT shfiting into 3rd"!

Good to hear you're ok, and that it was at a good spot to break if any.

oh yeah, the driveshaft loop is on order as we speak I ordered it earlier this week oh well ***** happens thank god nothing worse happened to me or my truck. I am gonna raise it back up with the stock shackles and leave the belltech hanger kit on and get sum traction bars. hopefully it wont happen again.

Wow! I'd have been too embarrassed to get out and look, with the lump in the seat of my pants and the smell! What is your drop? Sad to learn from your misfortune but I think I'll go ahead and get a loop before I go to the track. Hope your truck isn't too damaged.

Gee, I wonder if I need to worry with only 2" drop shackles and no performance mods... My L is a daily driver with occasional WOT flogging.

SpudBolt:

I don't think you have anything to worry about with a stock eng. I drag raced mine quite a few times before I got my Truck-Traks and didn't break the d/shaft. This was with a chip, filter, and 3lb pulley.

Thanks for the reply Dan.

One of these days I might get off my wallet and get a chip, filter and pulley.....
