Saw This post and was wondering if this was anyone from here that had raced this Z06? Keep reading it makes me laugh when the one guy says that kid must have alot of money invested in that lightning to keep up with a Z06 ahahah.

It had to be either, Jim, Sal, or Johnny, to be able to keep the mighty Z06 within sight. mortal Lightnings would have cowered at the sight of the 405hp badging, and resumed their farming duties, or something

Could very well have been me.....encountered a Z06 about a month or so ago on a Friday evening in Ft. Lauderdale. Ran him from a 30 mph roll and stayed with him - which actually pissed me off as I expected to do better.

 

Tore up a non-zo6 2001ish vette last night while going to the grocery store

though, I don't think he had any clue of what a L brings to the table... I reved at the light, he repsonded by reving and creeping up, so I did my normal launch... he did not launch that hard at all... he either didn't know that he needs to or just doesn't know how to drive... anyhow. within 100ft I was 3 lengths on him and I shutdown at 60, cuz I had to turn into the store...

I felt good... he and his girl flipped me off.. that's nice... people just can't lose gracefully... oh well...

 

shame on you ! Was that you freaking out this Z06 owner?

Now I Know
I had the hardest time passing a red Pick-up about a month ago. I hit 120 before I passed him. Now I know what it was.

I wasn't that amazed at all with the car at all it definately is not in the 12's stock. When I lined up with it I can hang with it every time and was only taking me by a length at most!! everytime only time I ever had a problem was at high speed takeoffs it being a standard helps alot and haveing a 6 speed. If the ZO spun at the beginning there was no way it could beat me untill about 120. I even swithed vehicles and drove the vette against my truck and still the same results. I likes to break the tires loose even easier than the L!! That car is nice and fast but not worth the like $50,000+ there spending on them ***** for $30,000+or- a few dollars for a Lightning I can use the other $20,000+ to make it fast as hell!!! I like the corvette but, it can't pull my boat and jet ski to the lake on the weekends!!!! I love my truck!!!

 

I haven't lost to a Corvette at the track yet. A Z06 is another matter. Those things are real quick.

I'll bet that Lightning was pretty well modified to stay that close.

 

There was a 2002 Z06 running at the track the other weekend.

He had a intake kit and drag radials, ran a few 12.1's and one 11.9

That day I ran a 12.1 on my stock tires and a breakin program, because of my new engine. My spare chip was just reburned by Jim and my new slicks will be here any day.

I won't be the ZR1 killer any more, my new name will be Don's Z06 Killer
