Does anyone have any pics or comments on the Carriage Works grilles? So far the only pics that I have seen and the posts that I have read are all good. Anyone else?
thanks

Fairly easy to install, but you do need a drill and a rivet gun (hand riveter is maybe $10 at Ace hardware).
You remove the stock grill from the surround. Lay the CW grill into it. Use a marker to draw around the ends of the 4 support rods, top and bottom. Drill a 1/8" (small) hole in the middle of each of the circles you drew. Then rivet into the ends of the 4 support rods you can see in the pictures there.
Sounds harder than it is. The grill looks better, and is more open for airflow. The grill is brushed finished on the edges, and black anodized everywhere else.

I have a CW grille, and it looks great, you will love the look. As for the install, becareful when taking out the bottom grille, there are plastic half circles on the bumper that it is screwed into. They are used to connect the CW grille, so if one/all break then it's a pain in the @ss, i went through it.
CW sends instructions with it, so it's fairly easy, My dad and I put it in in about 3 hours. Took us a while...haha, but only because those pieces broke, and it took two hours to make a new way to connect the bottom.
Also, i would go to a hardware store and buy some black spring clips. You have to remove the ones that hold the black rubber on the bottom of the grill shell, they are a little roughed up after that, so i just bought brand new ones.
Also what made it easier for me removing the grille shell and putting it back in....the instructions say to pull 2...or maybe four...spring clips. All that does is disconnect the grille shell from the car, so the black weatherstrip is still on the shell. I removed all of them, and removed the weather strip, then i took out the grille shell, install everything, put it back in, then re-connected the weather strip. I thought it made it easier, b/c when you try to remove it with it still conneted it's a pain in the ***, and i didn't want to scratch anything.
Oh and if you're really meticulous with your L, it's a good time to wax the bumper when the shell's off, it's too much of a pain to try to get your fingers under it to wax normally.
Hope it helps
