Long Tubes == Nice HP

Long Tubes == Nice HP
Just ran a Dyno on my long tubes:
Before:
Stock with electric fan/160 thermo/cobra water pump
345hp/417tq
after:
added intake and long tubes with full exhaust (kooks stainless&single muffler)
358hp/425tq
I also had a 365 pull, but the 358 looked like a better curve.
So intake/exhaust=13-20hp and 8-10tq
Anyone know what just an intake gets?
Coldie
PS: I think that's about as much as you can do to the engine without voiding the warranty.

I'll second that . The L.T.'s should be one of the last things to add.I do believe the open intake is worth 6-8 H.P. That leaves about the same for the headers..BUT , their true potential will shine After your chip and pulley, just like cornercarver mentioned.Don't forget your boost is down now due to the headers. Get a pulley and chip and your smile will grow.I have a couple of pulleys lying around .Drop me an E-mail if interested.

I'm not really concerned about my warranty, just was an interesting note (in fact the chip went on last night)

Defending any boost-type mods or a chip, however, would be a much tougher fight. Detonation, even inaudible detonation, will kill an engine quickly. Even your own expert would have to concede that point. The burden of proof would be on you, as the plaintiff. However, Ford would have to pay someone to come to court (or arbitration) in YOUR hometown and present evidence to the contrary. If someone were to file a complaint in a close case, I suspect that Ford would just cave at that point.
