Question ice on the intake

I know it's good to ice the intake at the track, but has anyone ever tried using dry ice? There would be no water mess....
any and all opinions welcome, thanks...JR

i dont think it would be a problem the hardest part would be getting it to stay!!also it would look very cool once it started melting

If it was too cold, couldn't you have the intake/MAF/etc ice over in high humidity situations?

I'm still new to this so...

How much difference does it make to your ET to ice the intake between runs?

Does putting ice on a smokin' hot intake cause any bad thermal shock to the metal?

ice

put a think towel between the ice and the intake, that way there is less shock to the metal but more so to collect the condensation and water that will travel. If it's leaking all over , they will pull you out of the staging lanes or off the track. Icing in between runs didn't better my et, but made it consistant.....that' the point.

I have seen litery hundreds of Lightnings icing their intakes and IC tanks at the track and have NEVER heard of someone cracking an intake. BfB do you know of first hand problems with doing this? Allot of L owners would like to know if this is a legit problem..
