That does not equal $33000 US. Maybe if you wanted to exchange your money, but the prices of cars works a bit differen (The price of cars in Canada don't change if the US dollar rises). I usually see (I live in Canada) new L's going for $40000-42000 CAN (maybe bargin for $39000 Can). $50458 is unbelivable, its like paying $40458 in the US. (The price of cars in Canada don't change if the US dollar rises). You guys in the US should come to Canada to buy your L's, only $25000-26000 US).

Are you talking tax in?
The Canadian $ list price in Ontario is $43,235.00. Add PST and GST (15% total) and you're talking $49,720.00. I believe your HST is higher. So it sounds like the dealer is in the ballpark if he's talking tax in.
Our list price of $43,235.00 equals $28,929.41 U.S. at today's exchange rate. Sounds like not a bad deal. I can get my hands on about 10 of them if anybody is interested. Of course you'd have to wait 6 months for delivery, cause they're not able to cross the border legally until then. Plus you'd have to pay at least 8% provincial sales tax.
Come on ECKO, with $650.00 per month in your jeans, you'd be hard pressed to buy a $30,000.00 vehicle, more like $25000.00. Time for a reality check. You won't find a 2nd gen. L on the market for that. Period. Do the math.

I only pay $575 (U.S.) for my 2001 L. I was lucky enough to get the Ford 2.9% financing, and I haggled the heck out of the dealer and put NO money down. I didn't even have a trade-in, so I had to pay tax on the whole amount!!! I think I could have haggled even more and maybe gotten a little better deal, but hey I tried!
