Not a huge street racer... probably more for lack of oppertunity than lack of desire... anyhow, I've had a few stop light encounters. All ended well cept for one with a viper... anyhow...

driving down to my buddy's house last night from Milwaukee to Chicago. Once I got into Illinois a little I saw a pair of Cobra's up a head... I was moving right along and soon caught up... Both seemed somewhat anxious to play (I know, I know cobra's are our brothers or something) since we were doing 75-80mph already I was expecting a a good lesson... (never raced one at all, let alone on the hwy - also, I have 4lb pulley and chip)... so the silver one was behind me, the black one (which look BADASS) to my left... after about 5 secs of pacing, the black one takes off... so I floor it... he had 2 lengths on me because he started early... then something incredible happens I start pulling past him... the silver one in the rear view is also getting further away at the same rate... the black one shutdown at 120 after I had 5 lengths on him... I think the silver one shutdown earlier...

NEXT! Now, with much respect from the cobra guys, we are all cruising together down the hwy... along come's mr camaro SS... now I thought I was in trouble for sure... 5 lane hwy, silver guy is gone, black guy is behind me, camaro is in middle lane, I'm one to the right... again, he goes first, I nail it... first we were dead even... then. wait, no, it can't be... I started pulling past him... yup, then his head lights in the rear view... I was feeling very good at this point... he didn't shutdown until 135ish...

Both solid kills from a 80mph roll... I have eaten a few ss's from a stop light, but never expected to do it on the hwy at those speeds... I know... way too fast... but, I always am over 95 in Illinois driving anyhow, and it was a 5 lane with 3 clear lanes... so... HOLY LONG POST BATMAN... sorry....

 

Street racers are stupid! You could have killed a bunch of people. j/k Next time get some Naws and tell us what the outcome was.

 

To each his own,like he said no one was around,just because you dont feel comfortable doing it don't start calling people stupid.sounds like the only person in jeopardy was the driver and if your in control and know what your doing,its not like running an escort over its limit.so just stay out of the way and enjoy.dont always think of what "could" happen

Grats man, sounds like much fun.

I just got to play with a nice looking later model RX7... cherry red and clean. He was ahead of me at the light, and apparently was upset that I didn't let him pull away. He hit it (little puff of black from the rich turbo) and scooted... with me on him. I ease over into the left lane, and slowly slowly pull up to his door before he got out of it.

Heh, he didn't seem too happy to have a big old truck ruin his fun for the day... and I am real happy with the 5# pulley, needless to say...
