Lightbulb "E" on your fuel guage means you have about

approximately 2 gallons left in the tank. Beyond my control late last nite, I made it home with needle at a perfect 0 degrees on the "E," (or perfectly horizontal). Filled up this morning and poured in 23.3 gallons. Re-read the '01 brochure and it said the tank holds 25 gallons.....

FYI

The guages are not all the same and the in tank fuel pump is cooled by the gas around it so it is a bad idea for a number of reasons to "push" it unless you are forced to...

When mine shows E it will only take 21-22 gallons

When mine hits E, I can only get 21.5 or so in. I always stop pumping when the nozzle clicks off. I could maybe get another gallon or so if I didn't. Over-filling is bad. I can't remember why though.

Hold the button near the Odometer, and throw your key to on, then let go, it will run a test, and show you how many gallons in the tank.

That's because you drive so fast, it takes time for all the instruments to start working in real time again.

twisted, r u leaving the truck running while its fueling? if so, that is why it takes a while to reach the full mark. if you shut it off, and fuel it, then turn the key on, it should shoot up to full in a matter of a second or two. the old cars just to used to go up while running and fueling at the same time, not the newer cars, they want people to get into the habit of turning car (or truck in this case) off when going to get gas.
