no more "x" plan?

i went to the ford dealership today to ask about when we would be able to order the 03 L. they told me mid to late sept.

i also asked them about x plan pricing and they said that they got a letter from FoMoCo two weeks ago and it said that any dealers who allow x plan on svt vehicles will lose there right to sell svt.

has anyone else heard this or are they trying to make more money?

TTBOMK it is up to the dealer if they want to honor x plan, or special financing rates on SVT's.

Don't ever believe the dealer when they tell you "Ford said".

I have learned that Ford doesn't seem to care or govern what goes on at dealerships.

If a dealer says that "Ford does not honor X plans now". It is because THEY don't want to honor the "X" plan.

Go to an official site like eaa.com, and you will see that "X" plan is on just about every vehicle Ford sells including SVT's.

Go to another dealer if you can...

Good luck!

It's True

My SVT dealer told me the same thing about receiving such a letter. SVT's (and T-Birds I think he said)will no longer be available on A or D plans either.
I am a friend of the SVT rep at my dealership and I am not currently in the market to buy another so he had nothing to gain by passing this info to me.
He had hoped to buy a 2003 Cobra on the D plan for himself, but since this development (and the addition of a $1000 gas guzzler tax) will hang onto his 2001 Lightning instead.

Well if that is true, this will be my last Lightning (and ford for that matter) until that changes.

Sure, get mad at Ford for trying to stay in business...then see if there ARE anymore Lightnings, X-Plan or not.

I'm hardly mad at ford...pawn...im just stating fact.

The only vehicles that FomoCO makes that I am interested in are SVT vehicles...if those are excluded from A-plan...so if those are excluded...that would leave nothing for me.

Anyway, I just called program HQ, and they say that SVT's are NOT excluded...so that must have been bad info from the dealer (once again).

Post Xplan was available on L 5 days ago.

Well I just purchased my L five days ago and the X-plan was available then. If they're saying that they received a letter two weeks ago stating no more x-plan then you should find another dealer. If its true then some dealers are still selling on the X-plan which reason enough for me to do business with them, if its not true then that dealer is trying to rid you of a $3500 savings by lying to you which is reason enough to not do business with them.

Coming from family that has work for Ford since the 1940's I find this information hard to believe. Can you imagine what an uproar this would cause in Detroit! The people who make the coolest truck can't by the coolest truck! I doubt it, but you never know.

Someone should just email one of the high volume Detroit dealers like Bill Brown Ford etc and get the skinny.

Last summer I was at Bill Brown Ford cause it is near my Uncles, and I kid you not they had like 15 L's in the lot. Now tell me that next summer in a similar situation not one of these are gonna go A plan or X plan!

Ask to see the letter and if he says he cant or wont, then kick him in the knee and go buy your truck somewhere else.

Honestly it sounds like BS to me.

This is NOT True!

My dealer scoffed and laughed at this and told me to tell you to come see him. He said no such letter exists. They are one of the largest SVT dealers in the SouthEast.

Anyhoo, I just bought my new '02 Black Lightning yesterday on X-Plan.

How do I sign up for this x-plan? And does it only include fords?
How much is it to become a member?
Thanks
