Power cooler results--It works!!!!
I had the first chance to use JLP's powercooler since I installed it months ago. Here are the results.
Track conditions: Hot 90 degrees
High humidity
No breeze
1/4 mile without powercooler
12.98 @ 106.6
1/4 mile with powercooler
12.86 @ 108.7
I did not have a way to read temp. drops but will be taking a temp. gun on my next trip. The 45 minute delay between rounds ate up about 5 lbs of ice. More ice would have been needed for any longer staging lane time. Remember do most of your cooling in the pits , drain the powercooler, and refill w/ice before heading to the staging lanes because you can't drain your tank in the staging area.
Cooler weather should bring even better results. I will report all results.
Bring on the low 60's

69roadster,
I removed my windshield fluid resevoir, installed a smaller sized battery , and installed the power cooler in the engine compartment. Nice , clean , and functional. I get tons of comps on how sweet it goes in.

Yes at Capital
Is Cecil that much better?
It is just so far away!!
I recall you were trying your traction bars, How were your 60' times?
Remember, at Capital last fall I ran a 13.05 letting off at 1000' when my exhaust came off the front clamps. I feel with my list of current mods and good air I should run mid 12's at Capitol.
I hate hot weather and most likely wont race untill Sept.
See you there!!!!

The key to lowering the air intake temp. is timing, 1 bag of ice gets you from 100-110'f to 55'f within 2 minutes. Ice is short lived.
I use a 3 way bypass valve that seperates the 4 gal. insulated tank/ reservior. this allows circulation without melting the ice during staging. When i'm within 5 mi. till lanch I reach thru rear window and flip lever circulating ice charge. By having control over the charge your track times will determine what dwell is best for maximum cooling.

Firefighter,
I think you have me confused but, I just did get traction bars Im gonna try them out a Cecil tommorrow night.
Cecil is so much better. Let me put it this way, with my current mods the best I ever pulled off at Capital was a 13.5
At Cecil I pulled a 13.1, I know there is still better times there, just didn't have time to experiment. They say to expect a couple tenths more there.
For you I would go as far and say low twelves maybe.
See ya soon.

I completely agree, Vinnie. Something about your truck (and your photography) just looks RIGHT. The truck has a very balanced appearance. I know others have the same exterior mods as yours, but for some reason your stands out. Well done!

Maybe my photography is good from staring at those Playboy magazines centerfolds my whole life. I always noticed how good the lighting was. LOL
