02 stock track times

My owners manual says the Lightning runs a 1/4 of 13.9. I have read either on this web board or the world Lightning forum that some have gotten their stock Lightnings to 13.4 in the 1/4. Is the Lightning under rated or is 13.9 the actual time that my truck should run?

And with the area that I live in the closest track is an 1/8 mile track. What kind of times should I expect from this track?

Most guys/gals are getting around 13.7-13.9 in good cool air w/a decent track. Some have gone quicker but I question "stock". I am calling "stock" as delivered from the factory w/all fluids and pressures at OE levels. (tire psi, oil, motor temps, boost psi, ect..)

A 13.9 1/4 should equall a 8.8-8.9 range.

I'm going to run my bone stock 02 this upcoming Fri and will post afterwards with details of my findings. I just hope it's cool and dry so I can see some 13s in "stock" condition.

Hey SVT_KY, thats pretty stout! What were the temps? What was your speed at 1/8th and 1/4 w/just the filter? Did you remove the snorkle and cut holes in the filter case?

I'm picking up a new K&N tonight and am gonna try it Fri evening too.

There were some stock 01-02 Lightnings running 13.40's when we rented Milan earlier this year.

Near perfect condiditons. Sunny, BP was like 31, temps were in the high 50's and next to nothing for humidity.

Can't wait for October racing

My local track is 660ft above see level and it was about 60 degrees outside. I dont know what the corrected altitude was.

I ran a 13.27@102mph and backed it up with a 13.29@102. ALL stock on F1's

Two weeks later I ran a 12.62@107 with a 4pound pulley, JDM chip, K&N filter in modded air box and E.T. streets.

Maybe its just me but that sounds like more than 380 HP and 450 lb/ft of torque at the flywheel. I already have plans to dyno this thing and I can't wait to get it to a track.
