It's a whole different mindset overseas. You guys may think we love our cars but injapan they are extremeists about performance. It's really a way of life. They run in wolfpacks.

So true.

Do these cars all have twin turbos? Two power adders.
Lets give the Lightning Dual Superchargers ala' the Aston Martin Vanquish. What a dance that would make for.....

There are a fair few GTR's down here in Oz. I've been waiting to come across one as well as one of the STI-spec WRX's. I would really love to see how a GTR would fare against 'the beast of Oz'. Could end up with a decent kill!

If a 3000GT VR-4 did a 6.0 sec. 0-60, then the driver probably didn't have a clue how to drive, let alone row a manual.

3000gt vr4s are pretty sluggish compared to 300z's and supra tt's...6.0 sounds about right, if not even a bit optimistic. dunno how mitsu could screw up a twin turbo car that bad but they did...personally if i had one i'd sell it, get used a gs-t or gs-x..or even an old talon tsi, mod it with the leftover change, and run 12s all nite long in my pocket rocket...

That was from MotorTrends road test in 1994...

Guess they don't have a clue how to drive cars huh...

There's a guy in the area that has a beefed up 3000gt with newer/bigger turbos, no pass seat, racing seat, 3" exhaust, etc... he his 13.5 consistantly at the track... that's it...

Don't get me wrong, I love 3000gt's awd, 4 wheel steering kicks ***... but it's not a drag machine...

That is actually 852.9kW, not hp. That would make it 1144 all wheel hp with still more room to fo (see their story)...

Did he say anything where in Texas? I have a R32 GT-R in Dallas area and Motorex said there will be another in Abilene. This one might be illegally imported though...

I think either Motor Trend or another car magazine had Lightning doing 6.x second 0-60 too. And other magazine had a stock L doing high 14 1/4 mile. Yeah, speed demons. Many cars doing the early magazine preview/review circuits are not same as production models, and may have been abused in the process.

As a comparison, edmunds.com managed to get 5.4 0-60 out of 99 3KGT VR4. 94 and 99 both have 320 HP.

The base model Skyline is already in the States, Infiniti G35. Called Skyline in Japan.

There won't be Skyline GT-R's anymore. Just a Nissan GT-R (note that it won't be Infiniti). Skyline and GT-R will be separated and many feel the GT-R won't be anything like the old R32/33/34.

Sorry! I meant that the skyline in Japan will be awesome. There is a concept of the new skyline gtr that came out this year that i saw in some mags. Looks kick _ _ _! Here there will be Nissan and Infiniti versions of Nissans 350Z. The skyline gtr concept wheather it comes out or not is on the same chassis as the 350z twins.
Thanks, J-mart

And the same chassis as the G35. They are all built on the same platform...

What worries me is the engine and its tunability. RB26DETT will be greatly missed.
