Well, after getting my MAC installed today, I went back to work, and was feeling lazy.........so I decided to forego any office work, and went to the field in the truck. I was at Port Everglades checking on one of my projects, and they just so happen to be unloading a freighter with cars for exporting. All right-hand drive cars...........Acuras badged as Hondas, Lexii badged as Toyotas, and some other weird cars

LOW AND BEHOLD, guess what's unloaded..............a TT NISSAN SKYLINE GTR!!! HOLY CRAP!! I am in awe............I leave the guy I was talking to so I can run over to the main gate..........I have no security badge, but I'm able to wait behind the gate. The car passes, and I waive the guy down to park for a sec......he does, and we chat for a while........it was hard understanding him, think he was from the caribbean. But he said he felt privileged (I think) to be able to unload it. NEWAYS.....after a few min. of BS-ing, I tell him jokingly if he'd like to go at it with that beautiful white truck you see there. He said he'd have to go thru customs first, and he'd meet me at the end of the main road by the container yard in 20 min.

I couldn't believe it.......I thought for sure he'd laugh, since it's not even his car (poor owner I thought, at that point)...........fast forward 20 min, and there I am, waiting for the showdown of my life. He ends up taking about 35 min, but he finally shows up.........we got clear road, nothing but Port security, but that's not for over a mile......hell, all we need is a 1/4 mile right?

We line up, and go on 3...........I take off like a monster and start leaving him......OMFG, I'm beating a Skyline.........well, shortly after I hit 2nd, here he comes catches up to me, and starts inching by me...................He kept pulling until I hit 3rd, and it felt like I was starting to reel him in..........NOPE!!! He started pulling nasty at that point, and I shut it down at about 100, down by maybe 2.5 - 3 trucklengths...........I flashed him, he slowed, and came back......I FELT LIKE SUCH AN *** FOR NOT BRINGING MY DAMN DIGICAM!!!! KILL ME NOW PLEASE.

UGH.............oh well...........lucky job that guy has............after a few more BSing he headed back to the Auto lot where they keep all these export vehicles, and I headed back to another job site.........

That was the best damn whipping I've ever received.........and I'd love another!!

It was being imported to the states, but not to South Florida.......it was going out to Texas, but it came from Japan, by way of the islands................don't know which one

I wander where in texas. A guy in my neighborhood used to have a R34 GTR v-spec that was yellow. It got flooded and totaled though.

 

WRONG basicly ran one 2 yrs ago in the SilverState.Came over from Japan.He did not finish had an exhaust leak [chickened out in my opinion]

 

Duh....er....uhh.....whats a skyline? I thought the only things with serious enough ballz to stick with/lick a Lightning that came from japan were the 3000gt, S2000, NSX, and the RX7 w/turbo. Whats the specs on this hog, and why is it such a big deal? Thanx

hell yea the skyline is 280 hp stock but its way under rated u can produce at least 500 with bolt on dang your lucky. also yea the s2000 is a joke. its only has 240 hp with like 150 tq. yea but anyways skylines are bad *** also the WRX j spec is bas *** those are the cars that have *****

 

Huh, guess Im a little behind on Japanese high-end sport car market. Hmm....kind of an oxy-moron eh? Japanese + high-end sports car..... Just doesn't sound right in the same sentence. Anyway, does japan produce ANYTHING with rocks that they dont strap two freakin' turbos to?

 

the only thing is the skyline is 80 to 90 gs so very exp.

the j spec cars that have ***** with out turbos is Nissan maxima 255hp 6 speed
the G 35 infinity 260
and i guess what acura CL type s 260 hp 6 speed

i wouldn't be so quick to discount the s2000, they are pretty quick little cars (my roommate has one). These things will run in the high 13's stock, and they're very peppy once you get into the high rpms. I'm pretty sure there are supercharger kits for them too that will squeeze out another 100 horses! Its definitely a fun car to drive if you can throw a few twisties in there too

I was looking at the stock WRX, 227HP on the same size motor, with a turbo. I missed the part about the j-spec... those have 280hp! that would be a quick little car!!

 

i read somewhere that the skyline and the lancer evo both have well over 300 hp stock but are reported to have 280 to conform to racing rules in japan

 

Edit: forget it... some people just need to see a bit beyond their own back yard...

 

Skylines are all wheel drive. He should have owned you off the line. It's like launching a WRX, need to rev it high and dump the clutch. He probably didn't do that....that's why you had the lead at the beginning. If he knew what he was doing, you would have never been in front.
