Talking ARG! Tuners!

What's the expected turn-around time for a chip re-burn?

My tuner has had mine for a week now and is doing the "soon" crap.

I've taken a day off to hit the Wednesday drags, I'll be really pissed off if I don't have a OU^(&% chip.

ARG! Just blowing off steam.

Coldie

UPDATE: Turns out I made a custom request and he didn't feel confident shipping me the chip without getting it tested on a truck. Instead of throwing me an untested chip, they actually took the time to test and dyno the chip they burned for me.

Just a bit of miscommunication and me being cranky. I'll have my chip by when I wanted it (and when he promised it) and that's all that really matters

I guess times on chips just depends on who your tuner is. I know that my tuner goes out of his way to burn my chip... and send me parts...

yup...

I'm still being professional and not mentioning the tuner, but if he misses this deadline, a nice rant will be posted

Coldie,
I think we have similar mods. I have a spare if you are a 2000 CUX2. I can shoot it out today, and just bring it with you Saturday.

2001

Don't think it will work. I'm a 2001...

Thanks a million for the offer though.

one more thing...

I guess my problem is this is a 10 minute task. Given that I said it was important (and paid for next-day shipping), you would think they would get it done quick.

Even if they didn't get it done quick, they would have an accurate guess. But everytime I've called it's been "We'll probably get it done tonight"

2001 bummer. For the future watch the classifieds and pick up a used chip and have it re-burned for your truck. No down time then. Very worth while investment.

Well, I am going to hopefully not stick my foot in my mouth and say I don't think it's me because I don't see any reburns here from WA, but I would like to just say that even though sometimes it may be a 10 minute process, you have to understand that there may be 20 other people ahead of you, asking for the same priority. I am definitely guilty myself of telling people an order or reburn will go out a certain day, expecting to live up to that, and then it doesn't happen. Keep in mind that all of us vendors try our best to please our customers, and sometimes our hearts are bigger than our hands can do.

Man, I wish there was a way on these boards to tell who people really without having to guess at screennames.

Some Tuners are able to "burn a chip" on the spot. But others cannot, even bigger companies need to answer to a higher power to make changes, as simple as they may be.
Sometimes they have to go though someone else to make it happen for ya', and thats where delays start.
Not much info, but maybe the right info....

not you.

LightningTuner, it's not you.

It's a tuner well known for being late

Coldie

PS: On the other hand, could you get me a chip out tomorrow?

I'm low on chips right now, have more coming in, but I also have a ton of previous chip orders do to first. I have no problem doing a chip for you, but definitely wouldn't be able to get it out in the next day or two.

Sounds like somebody is just living up to his reputation. I guess consistency is the key to sucess.

I overnighted mine(which I paid for).
He waited 30 days to reflash the chip.
He overnighted it back to me(which I paid for).

Thank yourself lucky to get it back...

But, that's just what I think.

Lucky?

I will thank myself lucky once I get it back.

LightningTuner: Thanks for the honesty. It's refreshing. I'll probably still end up getting a chip from you so I don't have this problem again.
