Met a guy tonight w/ a 99 lightning w/ flows and a superchip, obviously no match. But what really amazed me how badly I beat a 96 vette collectors edition w/ LT4 engine ( I am 99.9% sure it was one of those because it had the special silver color w/ the ZR1 like wheels that came only in the 96 collectors edtion Vette, to celebrate the last year of the C4 body style) I have been kind of paranoid to race lately due to my ticket a few weeks ago. But this guy was teasing me from stoplight to stoplight. We finally got to a desrted stoplight tonight ( About 12 AM, And I got that racing "spank that Vette itch", you know excactly what I am talking about!!!). I could not believe it, by about 70 -80, I was so far ahead that it is difficult to say in car lenghs (I would have to say about 10). I was really surprise because those LT4's are suppost to run 13.2 - 13.3 in the 1/4 mile w/ a 6sp.. I think it might have been an auto though. Just wanted to share my excitement. By the way here are my mods:

JDM single J39 program, cold air, breather cap, boost bypass, line mod valve, TR6's, 4# lower pul. and magnaflow 12568

Still haven't learned your lesson yet, huh brasil? Do yourself a favor and tell the next guy that teasing you at stoplights , to show up at the track. Then whip his *** there. No tickets and the best part, you get 1/4 times

 

Good kill. If the car was an automatic it had an LT1 though. Only 6-speed cars had the LT4 in 1996 and all Grand Sports. If you beat the LT1 by that much an LT4 wouldn't be a problem. They aren't that much faster.

 

I have a buddy that has a Grand Sport. When he was stock he ran a best of 12.70 on street tires

 

is that average for the Grand Sports? i knoew they were fast but DAMN thats hauling ***!

 

According to Cand and Driver, the grand sport and collectors edition which had the LT4 engine, ran between 13.2 - 13.3 in the 1/4. I can almost guarantee that I raced a collectors edition.
