Truck Traks vs. Cal-Tracs

I am looking to buy traction bars for my 2002 Lightning. I wanted to hear some opinions about users fo both products. I hear they are both excellent products but work differently to achieve the same result. I can't decide which to buy. I'm also adding 2" Beltech drop shackles, unless they will interfere with traction bars.

Thanks!

I have have had Both of those Types. They both are great....

I was lowered 3/4 and the Caltracs worked alittle better for me.
If you want a slapper bar the truck traks are the best. I would say the Caltrac's are more for race use only....

Its all in how much you want to spend, and how much install you care to do...

Thumbs up

I don't know about the Cal-Traks, but with the Truck-Traks you don't need to drill (weaken) your frame.

I have the 2" drop shackles and the Truck Traks. The TTs install in about 1/2 hour--no noise--you don't even know they're on except when you launch.

Truck Traks! You can't go wrong. Install in 30 minutes and work great. Like everybody that has them says, you won't even know they are there until you nail the gas.

Thumbs up truck tracks

I went the cheaper lakewood route=If i had it to do again ,i would go with Jay L truck tracks, that are made exclusively for lightning's where the leaf springs are mounted differently, than a regular f-150.. do the truck tracks and be happy

Thanks guys...

Thanks for everyone's input. I called Jay and hopefully he'll be calling back tomorrow. I just wasn't sure which way to go. I spent 2 days at the track and I could only get traction with the F1's on the first launch of each day. So, I firgured it time to get the traction bars and slicks so I can get a good launch every time.

I'm off to install my Bell Tech 2" drop shackles now, but I'll check back in later tonight. You know, after I run around the block with the newly lowered Lightning!

Thanks again!

I just got a pair of truck tracks today. I cant say anything about how they perform since i havent installed them yet but the quality of the bars is top notch. After hearing all of these good things about them I cant wait to try them out.
