Is it normal to keep pegging 11 lbs in this heat??

Well, I got my LUNAR boost and air/fuel gauges installed yesterday (THEY LOOK SO BADA$$ AT NIGHT!!!! ).

Anyways, I did a few WOT blasts to see the boost gauge in action, and I was getting consistently 10.5 to 11 lbs worth of boost on the gauge...............Keep in mind I have no pulley, and it's 90 degrees outside in the muggy and sticky South Florida humidity. I do have the open airbox with the K&N, but I did not expect to see a full 10 lbs, let alone 11.

Does this sound right..............could it be that the gauge is not calibrated properly..........is that even possible?

Please advise

thx,
JC

I'd have to say that it's not normal JC I see 12-13 on my Phantom and I have a 4#er....is it resting on 0 when the truck is off and around 21 in vaccum at idle?

I'll have to check tonight when I get home.............I know it's in the 20-21 range on idles, but don't recall what it's at when it's off...........I'll check tonight and post back

Well, just checked the gauge again..........while the truck is off, it rests on 0, and while idling, it's in the vac 21-22 range.........which seems to be in line with an earlier recommendation............so I guess it's fine.

Maybe I have a strong truck.........or something.

Anyhow..............we'll see what happens when I add a 4# pulley by the end of the year............if i peg 15, then i'll know it was fine all along

Hey MiamiWhiteSVT-L,

Maybe that open Air Box and K+N is doing more than you think. My 02 had 9lbs stock, with "JUST" a JDM 12" Hi-Flo Cool Air Induction Kit, it more than buried the Factory Guage over 10, giving me every bit of 11 and even 12. Then with the Custom Programed BFB Diablo Chip, the Boost By-Pass and a 2-3 Upper Pulley added last week, I gained at least 3 to 4 more. So 10 to 11 for you is possible. I now have every bit of 13 or 14 LB's of Boost, even in the 90's here in NY.
