Question PSP High Flow intake

Hey guys, who here has the PSP high flow intake setup, and how do you like it? Is it an air tight seal that will make sure that no unfiltered air will bypass the setup and reach the engine? That's what I guess i'm most worried about since I bought a similar setup for one of my previous cars from another company, and it was an aweful setup that clearly allowed ulfiltered air to bypass the setup. Does anyone have any pics of it?

Thanks

Thumbs up psp fast-air

I have it. I like it. No unfiltered air getting in to the engine. A few pictures are in my gallery.

Thanks, I just bought the high flow intake, and havn't ordered the FAST air kit since i'm not too thrilled with the idea and I just don't like how the front air scoop looks like. Too bad that this high flow filter setup is on backorder and they said it will probably ship out early next month.

Beefcake, I live on the Silverton/Kennedy Heights border, nice to know there is another Lightning owner in this area besides Gregg Evans!

Actually June, it will ship way sooner. Usually it takes weeks for our filter supplier to make our filters, but they must be slow, they had the entire order done the next day! We should have them coming in this week.

As for the seal, I actually revised our billet adapter on this last machining run, so they should seal even better than before. there was not really an issue with past adapters, but I used to machine a groove in them for people to swap their gasket over, but after talking to many customers, most said the gasket never fit right anyway, so I did away with the groove and it now sits 100% flush to the meter.

That's wonderful and great news to hear Sal! I was the guy that was hammering that lady who works the phones with a million questions! I was hoping i'd get it since i'm heading to Ford Performance Specialists on Sept. 3rd to have them install the factory tech valve body, blower bypass kit, and this intake, as well as flush the tranny and put in synthetic rear differential fluid. I'm debating whether I should put on a chip and pulley at the same time, but probably will steer away since I can't void my warranty, and too many people have blown their engines running only moderate amounts of boost for my comfort..........

When you say it fits 100% flush to the meter, what do you mean? If the billet adapter sits against the meter without any type of gasket to seal it, doesn't it mean that unfiltered air could possibly go in between the two metal edges?

Thanks!

The meter is plastic, and around the opening, it has a raised lip on it. This lip will seal directly to the billet adapter. If you are really that uncomfortable about it, you can use a THIN layer of oxygen sensor safe silicone between the meter and adapter, but honestly, you'll have no problems as it is.

Is there a way to make your fast air system work with the stock airbox. I really like the looks of the stock box but like the idea of bring extra cool air in from underneath.
I have a box in there now with holes cut in the bottom but I think this brings in warm air off the engine.
I do have an extra box with no holes so I can start from scratch. Will your system work by just attaching the tubes to the underside of the box.
Thanks

Hey Sal, check your email!
Basically I just asked if you had any cobra waterpumps in, and if instructions came with your FASTair setup.
I have an event planned in 2 weeks, 3-4 states away, so thats why im so impatient.

Thanks!
Jon

FYI:

Our L rear ends comes from Ford with synthetic gear oil.

The water pumps you need are not Cobra R's, but ordinary late-model Mustang GT and Cobra pumps available new from Ford. You could use a re-built pump, but would likely lose the better anti-cavitation water pump that Ford uses. Rebuilders normally use a cheaper stamped impeller.

Damn..........things have changed. I looked more closely, and you are right, it's a plastic MAF. My last vehicle I remember used a metal MAF. As far as the oxygen sensor safe silicon sealant, where would the best place be to buy it, and is there a specific brand that you might recommend?

As far as the synthetic rear differential fluid goes, I was going to have Redline put in, since it's going to be better than what the factory has in there now.
