Overfilled transmission?

What are the problems with having to much transmission fluid in your trans? Should I bleed off extra?

The pressures wil be higher than normal..

I ended up pulling the drain plug on my 4x4 pan for a few seconds to get mine down to Full... Afterwards the part throttle shifts were more consistently mild. When it was over full it would sometimes BANG second under LIGHT throttle.

If you overflowed it a little bit I wouldn't worry about it. If you overflowed it alot, I would drain some just for peace of mind, but I don't know any if any ill affects overflowing would have.

They make a little hand pump to remove the tranny fluid. I would definely get it to the normal level. It can foam up if you don't.

Drain off the excess, it'll exhaust thru the vent cap and could cause pressure bind in the clutches. (more than one gear engaging at a time)

Safe thing is to bring it down to "full"

Is it foaming? If so, it's definately too high.
