Smile Just bought a 2002 L

Well, I went and traded my SuperCrew 4X4 for a Black 2002 L. What an awesome piece of equipment. There aren't too many in my county so heads turn evertime I drive by. However, I already have a problem . Sometimes when I am backing up, I hear a loud clunk. It makes the noise right before I have stopped rolling in reverse. It sounds like it is coming from my left front rotor and does it more often when I am turning the wheel to the right. Has anyone heard this before? Please help. Anyways, I am thrilled to be a new L owner and I enjoy reading your posts. You guys crack me up.

Cluncking in front end

the cluncking in the front end is the lower control arm. i had the same problem i took it to the dealer and i told them to check everything in the front end. It end up being that the lower control arm wasnt torqued to specifications they tightened and havent had heard it since. It ahs been like 2 months

Clunk washers are only $25 and an easy fix. Should be your first mod!

Black is the best color!

Congratulations on L ownership. Pay no attention to the big grin you will inherit along with the L. It comes with the truck.

Btw, good choice of color, rumored to be the fastest of colors.

Welcome,

Let the Mod's begin. It took me all of a week to start I have the clunk since day one too, I never bothered to get it fixed. Like Blown said, it's part of owning a Lightning. Plus "I'm not" de-moding my L for a Stinking Clunk. I'll save that for something good like new heads or a tranny All I know, is I'm in love with a whine and need a second job for more Mod's.

Thanks for the replies guys. I'll have it checked out this week. By the way, do you know of any tweaks or adjustments I could do to this hot rod? Also, what are some good start up mods?
