Warranty Question

I've seen rumors on the board about Ford doing alignments for vehicles with under 12k miles. Is this really true? If so, great! But I wonder why they would do so.

I think I remember reading that in the manual somewhere. They also take care of tire balance during the first 12,000. Someone correct me if I am wrong.

I need to get myself over to the dealer in this case. Does anyone know 100% for sure about this?

I do not know about the balance but they will align a vehicle with in the first 12000mi.

My folks had an 88 Bronco and I think they cleaned the injectors once with in the first 12K also.

yes ford will do an alignment up to 12,000 miles, and they will balance tires if you have a vibration concern, not just because you are too cheap and want it done for free.

of course you could always be cheap and just "say that you are noticing a vibration". if the tech doesn't take the time to drive the truck and realize that there is nothing wrong, you may just get a free balance.

as for the alignment, yes ford will pay for it INCLUDING camber/caster adjusters if needed. but a standard alignment (under warranty) pays the technician somewhere between $7 and $12 dollars.

do you really want a $12 dollar alignment?

later,
chris
