Question Can You Install Breather W/O A Chip?

I read in MM&FF that most of the oil that accumulates in our inlet boots and TB area is caused by oil being sucked from the valve seals during hard deceleration, and that replacing the oil filler cap with a breather will help to reduce this.

I have heard that doing this without a chip programmed for this mod will set a MIL or at least a soft code...

Does anybody know for sure? Thanks for the help!

Did a 13.37 with a breather on the passenger side valve/cam cover. No chip. Then I did the airbox mod and K&N with no problems. THEN I got the chip and pulley.

Thanks for the help guys...

If I do this, should I do both the oil filler cap and the drivers side hoses as well?? or will the oil filler cap be good enough?
