Oldschool Muscle Cars... 67 Chevelle...

This is on topic and off topic... but im gonna post anyway. A friend of mines dad's who does body work and painting, has a 67 Chevelle with a 427 bored 60 over. Does anyone know what kinda numbers this puts out? Or what it runs in the 1/4? He say's it will put my truck to the grave, im sure it'll beat me. But how bad? I respect the old Chevy muscle....

If it is punched 60 over, I'll assume it is a built block. Could easily be 600hp. With a big block that is not hard to do. I would say you would get beat bad... and the sad part is you would enjoy it. Can't beat old school muscle.

Yup Jeff,

Everyone in Davie still is a redneck. I don't even consider myself living in Davie because im right next to 75, right next to Weston. Its all brand new houses, and not 'country'.

I remember the high school gearheads who drove around with Chevelles, Novas, and Camaros, stuffed with Big Block Rat motors in them. They didn't handle all that good and had primer for paint, but I loved the deep, lopey sound of those V8s. They didn't seem to be all that fast, mostly from lack of traction. I got a chance to drive my dad's '87 Grand National on the 'strip', where all the hot-rodders hung out and raced. Let's just say that little hair-dried V6 taught a few lessons

I was actually one of those gearheads too, trying to get my '65 Mustang running on at least 6 of it's 8 cylinders...it runs on all 8 now, most of the time anyway...

Those old muscle cars may be a pain in the asp to keep running, but they have that exhaust sound that modern emmisions cars can't duplicate. I was at a car/body shop one day, and the owner had a small collection cars. He started his 426 Hemi-powered Belvedere, and it sounded awesome. Lumpy, loud, lopey, and the whole car shook. Later, he started his Dodge Viper, and although it was really cool, the exhaust was too smooth and refined. Just didn't have that 'muscle' sound.

I might just run this kid anyway... if I win, it'll a hell of a race. If I loose, atleast I can say I lost to some true muscle...

Here was me against a 70 454 BB chevelle convert. w/BIG slicks. He jumped me 6-7 car lengths off the line but then only slightly pulled me the rest of the way.

In this run I'm bone stock and turned a 14 flat.

I see a 69 chevelle run 7's in the fastest street class car at one of the local strips.
They announce it as the fastest street car in michigan

My definition of street class is to be able to drive across the country with air conditioning,a full interior and a stereo.
But what do i know?
I just meet jack schitt,yesterday
