But since you put "third generation" in bold, you obviously feel that you have a point to make, so what is it? how is the '03 truck a 3rd generation? I feel like I've seen you post this before, so I'm really curious as to what you mean. I'm sure I missed a thread about this somewhere, but please fill me in.

thanks,

He is quoting from the above mentioned webpage. I think he had it in bold just to bring attention to the fact that they are calling the 03's a third generation.

Here's the link incase you missed it.http://media.ford.com/products/press...1&make_id=1049

Just thought i'd post this for *****s n giggles...

Spoke to an SVT rep from a local dealer tonight. He told me the 03's are getting a 20hp increase via a change in pulleys and a couple other changes he forgot the specifics on. Also made mention that it was an afterthought that was put into motion because the 03 Cobra now makes more power than the 02 L, which apparently wanst something SVT wanted to settle for.

I proceeded to question his statement and source for a good 10 minutes. In a nut shell, he states that a fleet manager he knows has contact with someone at SVT and that the additional 20HP is a done deal, even tho its not made public.

Take it for what its worth....just one guys words. Who knows, anythings possible. They are already making several changes to the 03's and the pulley thing doesnt seem too far fetched. Only time will tell...

Ford probably heard that I said that the 03's where slower, so Ford did something about it, or something...........

Think about it though.
If FORD reads any of these boards they would see that a 2# aftermarket lower pulley did not blow up every motor it was put on.Actually most tuners do not even sell the 2# anymore(I know JDM has one part of the interchangeable setup, but I guarantee you that is not the most popular pulley).
So A bigger lower pulley with a little reprogramming would not be so unheard of,but advertising 400 h.p. would.

I was very surprised when they added new wheels just for one year ....... I would be VERY surprised if they added 20 hp.
