Question (ABOUT TO ORDER...HELP) Rims: max WIDTH is 10"? -and- 4/3" drop creates problems?

Hey gang,

Ive never seen anyone with a wider rim than 10", and most manufacturers have 9-9.5" wide in 20's. I'd like to get the biggest footprint possible while maintaining the sidewall height of 295,35-20's. Can we go bigger than 10" wide...and if so, whats the needed offset?

Next...drop. Ive posted a few times around the net and read ALL the posts I could find. It seems some people say that with the 4/6" drop they never scrape the body kit on speedbumps, driveways, highspeed freeway dips. But, on the flipside, some people have posted that they had to raise the truck after a 4/3 drop because they were hitting the front valance on EVERYTHING but flat pavement. I really like the look of the 3/4 drop, and since Im going with 20's, I definately want the truck dropped...but not at the price of having to drive SLOW over every uneven surface.

Can I please get some feedback from owners that have this drop. What is the REAL DEAL with driving an L with the 3/4 drop as a daily driver on not-so-perfect streets???

THANKS VERY MUCH!
DS

Your going to have to be careful with a 3/4 drop kit cause your still going to scrape the front end and the rear end on some streets and curbs. There's no way anyone drive around with a 4/6 drop kit and doesn't scrape at all. My front end is all scraped up underneath, but you really can't see it from the front of the truck unless your laying on the ground.

all I can say is 295 35's are pretty tiny sidewalls for that width of a tire.

You might want to consider a 295 40 for your truck. thats what pretty much everyone runs on there 20inch application's.

Yeah, like ICULOKN said, go with the 3/4 drop. I have never scraped anything, although the front bumper cover bottom is level with alot of those cement parking stops. Just be careful around parking lots and steep inclines, other than that drive it normally.
