Well! I guess that I will chime in. Number 290 and the build date was 4/15/99. I don't drive it in the winter but it does get out. It has never been back to the dealer in three and one half years and still runs the original intercooler and no leaks. I picked it up on 4/26/99 and headed to the drag strip that afternoon. Just clocked 100 miles on the odometer when I passed through the gates at Milan Dragway. I had the distinction of posting the first official privately owned Lightning quarter mile times.
PS. 3.73 gears installed 5/6/99. Stainless steel exhaust built and installed 6/3/99 The first Roush lowered Lightning 8/19/99. Widened wheels 12/99. CAD designed long tube headers with merge collectors built and installed 5/2000(X-pipe too). Modified SVO throttle body and upper intake July 2000. First Place at the SVT Experience in the modified Lightning class 8/2000. First carbon fiber drive shaft 9/2000. Billet throttle bodies introduced Spring 2001. Pro Pipe 6/2001. No other after- market items. All modification done by the owner (Too Many to list but all reversible). No Chip! 393 RWHP Go figure!!!

put my name on the list in december of 98 when they first where annouced.
Went and traded in my 97 grand prix in febuary when I ordered it and payed for it.
I finally got mine on june 22nd of 1999.
Right now I have about 40K on the OD, but 35K of that was the first 2 years and the last year and more it sits around. Its more of a toy now.
For the first year I never ever saw another L on the streets. Now its a everyday thing .

I always thought it was kinda cool to see who had some of the earliest production numbers for any year.
Course, I have a special interest in that, because I have yet to see anyone post a production # on this board lower than mine
I have the #15 of 2001. Ordered July 17, 2000. Built 1/10/01. Delivered to me at the dealer on Feb. 14, 2001. And I tracked this truck from the day it hit production. It was held up in Canada for 3 extra weeks.
