Hard Tranny Shifts??

Hard Tranny Shifts??
I recently added a 4lb pulley and TR'6's to my truck. Before that I had already installed JDM's Stage 1 Kit. Before I put in the 4lb pulley I sent back my chip to JDM to have it reburned. When it came back I re-installed the chip, as well as the plugs and 4lb pulley. The truck is a monster now, it really pulls hard. The tranny shifts out pretty hard now though. Is this good for the tranny, I was told that its better for it because there is no slipage in the clutch. It catchs a hard 2nd and sometimes a 3rd. Is this normal? Remember, that the Line Mod Valve for the tranny is part of the JDM Stage 1 package and it is supposed to shift much firmer. But is catching 2nds & 3rds normal. Just wondering?...Thanks for you help!

I've got line pressure raised in my chip, plus a FT valve body. I don't know what that 'line mod valve' deal is that you're talking about, maybe it's like the FT valve body?
Anyway, on certain pavement I can burn 2nd for 50 feet and bark 3rd consistently.
Hope this helps...

If your not confortable with the shifts have Jim reburn the chip to soften up the shifts a little.
Myself I have my shifts set fairly soft, I don't like a hard punding shift. Mine still shifts fast, just not very hard.
Making the trans burn rubber during the shifts will not make your truck any faster, it might even make it slower.

Tranny
It's not that i'm unconfortable with the shifting of it. Its just that I want to make sure that its not damaging to the tranny. It's actually I real attention getter to most when you hammer on it and it catches a nice 2nd in an Auto. I real Eye OPENER! But I just want to make sure that its OK for the tranny and is normal.
