Pulley squeeking, is there a way to stop it.

Ever since i installed my 4#er i got this noise from the pulley, not quite a squeek just a shucka, shucka, shucka, well you get the point. I guess it might be cavitation, is there a way to stop it or does one just get used to it. Can it be something else??

Cool

If it's cavitation, I believe that chip tuners raise the idle rpms 100 to make it go away. Is it doing this only at idle?

I believe noise is coming from blower pulley, should i be worried, truck runs great, but that noise is haunting me.

You need to give us more info: year L, miles, other mods, etc.

I had a bad squeak at idle, removed the blower idler pulleys and pulled the front seals, bearings were full of crap and weren't smooth running. I tried cleaning them and repacking them but they still felt like thay had flat spots so I replaced them (PN#F85Z-8678-AAA c. $18 each). I also pulled apart the tensioner pulley and cleaned and repacked the bearing. When I started the truck I couldn't believe how quiet it was. After a few days of driving a little squeak has come back (about 5% of the before volume level) so I am going to have the tensioner warrantied and hopefull my noise will be gone for good. BTW I have similar mods but about half the mileage you listed in you post.

Try pulling off the blower belt and starting the truck, if the noise is gone (like mine was) you'll know what is wrong. Hope this helps.
