tranny noise and "Bucking" when shifts down from OD.

I have recently narrowed down a clicking noise coming from the back of the tranny, it does it only when it warms up, it sounds like the cat-converter heat cover is loose but it is not, with it running I was under there and it is deff coming from this area of the trans.

also since I had a pi torque converter put in the truck will buck or surge when at highway speeds and the throttle is pressed to downshift, then this downshift occurs is when the truck bucks..
almost like when in a manual trans car and at 60 u push the clutch in half way three or four times..

any ideas on either of these..

tks
Jim

A flat out guess is the converter is not disengaging from lockup, but the noise is in the wrong place, could be either solenoid or the converter if my guess is right.

Sorry I couldn't be more help, hard to tell without seeing and hearing it myself.
