Most people have said 5.5 will help with the oil in the intercooler problem. I have always used 6 with my separator and have not had problems..

I use 6 every time....oil is not somewhere I want to scrimp....run low and kabooommmm!!!! I would rather clean a little bit out of my intake than clean up a puddle of it on my garage floor.

Good point but I know allot of guys who have been running 5.5 for years with no ill affects. When it comes to cleaning the oil out of the intake it is abit involved since you need to remove the IC...

As some of you know, I have a MAJOR OIL SUCKING PROBLEM so mabe I'll go with the 5.5 for now. I also have the BIGGEST seperator you ever saw and it still doesn't help.

FORD RECOMMENDS ADDING OIL TILL ITS INBETWEEN THE MIN AND MAX LINE ON THE DIPSTICK. BUT THEY CLAIM THEY NEVER HEARD OF THE PROBLEM OF OIL GETTING INTO THE INTAKE. I HAVE NO MODS AND I'M EXPERIENCING THE SAME PROBLEM.

Be sure to fill the new oil filter before screwing it on!

I fill it in between the min and max on the dipstick, which, with a new filter, is usually just shy of 6 qts.

If you dont fill the filter, 6 quarts is just right.

Filling the filter first should make no difference in oil level, it just gets oil to the bearings faster.

That is a true statement. Plus you should make a habbit of always filling the filter before installing.
