Intresting lowering problem

I was supposed to have the Belltech 2/2" Drop today installed, but the guy said he couldn't do the install on the front springs because there was enough room to do it without it bottoming out on the frame body? Is he an idiot, or is there something wrong? I told him people lower their Lightnings lower than that, and he said not possible....well....

2" springs will get the control arms pretty close to the OEM bump stops. It's a easy fix to drop in some shorter bump stops from Energy Suspension.

Yes Shadowlightning, he is an idiot! LOL I would take my business somewhere else...obviously he has never worked on an L or any other F-150 to lower it. All that is needed is to buy shorter bump stops or take them out and cut them a little.

Question

That guy is an idiot, I just had a 2/4 drop installed on my Lightning 2 weeks ago with no problems. After the drop the lower control arms were sitting on the bump stops, I used a hack saw blade to trim the bump stops, I cut the bump stops half of there lenth, so I have about half an inch clearance.

Hey speeder... How do you like the 2/4 drop? Is it low enough in the front or would the 3/4 be better? Also, how is the ride of the Belltech kit?

I like it alot, I do wish that the front was about 1" lower, I might get some 1" drop lower control arms later on, I also need to upgrade the shocks. I just got back from a 250 mile drive tonight and the ride was very smooth on the highway. If you lower your truck go with the 3/4, I think you will like it alot.

a beltech 3/4 comes out to be a 2/4 on a L, the front of a L is already lowered 1inch, a full 4 in the back was a little low for me, it made the back lower than the front, i used the second hole in the shackle for a 2/3, an like speeder said you wil need a lower control arm for the extra inch..
