I don't have a bed cover and I don't want my bottle to get stolen or to sit in the heat/weather...

Then your kinda screwed on the heat and weather issue. Take the bottle out when your not driving it with juice

I do have a bed cover, but I sometimes run w/o one for the weight. I don't stop anywhere were the stuff could be stolen. That would be a mistake, especially when you include the price of remote openers, heaters, NX bottle blankets, botlles, brackets.

I was thinking more of building a small box in the bed to house the bottle and bolt it down from then inside of the box... I would have a good lock system on that can't be forced open with a crow bar. My biggest concern at that point is the heat that would build up and what that would do to the bottle pressure...

well heat is good to a certain tempature and then you don't want to go any higher or else you'll get a nice big bang. if you blow off vavle doesn't work that is.

Heat is good but too much heat (in the summer) will cause the pressure in the bottle to rise and possibly cause the overpressure relief to release the nitrous into the atmosphere (the bed).

Here's a pic of my set-up. I bolted the bottle to a plate using the bed bolts to hold the plate down. I didn't want to drill any holes into the bed so it worked perfect. I have a Bed-Rug installed over the plate now and it looks very nice. Hope this helps..-Neil
