Pulley Removal Question

I have an older style JDM 2# pulley on my 2000L. I bought a new JLP 6# and so have to take the 2# off. Simple right? Well, the 2# is on a cage and I can not get it to break loose to save my life. I tried using the old pulley removal tool I got with my 2# and all it did was bend the metal dowel rods. I made sure to turn it clockwise but no luck.

Anyone have any ideas?

Thanks.

Eric

How did you keep the engine from turning??
If you put the wrench on the Hub you turn Counterclockwise correct??
On another subject does anyone have a pulley removal tool for the snout pulley?? I have an iterchangeable set that I would like to install, but I do not want to ruin the snout assembly. I was told you need to pull the snout and have pulley pressed off.

Collins8,
I stopped the engine from turning with an engine stop strap between one of the torque converter bolts and the torque converter plate access panel hole. You can make one pretty easily if you have a scrap piece of metal.

Well I talked to Jim at JDM and he said I should be able to get to the three bolts behind the cage and remove them. Well I couldnt so I broke out an 18" pipe wrench and it broke free pretty easy without any real damage to the pulley. I was really more pissed I didnt think to try that last week, lol.
