JDM Heat Exchangers in stock!

Initially we had 38 of the new heat exchangers. We now have 9 in stock and ready for shipping. There are more ordered and on the way.

With everybody running these bigger pullies and aftermarket superchargers, our Lightnings need a way to keep the air charge temperature down for maximum performance. These heat exchangers do just that and perform great in the 1/4 mile. In one of our tests conducted a reduction of 37 degrees in air charge temperature on an 8 LB. pulley combination was shown. Now thats horsepower!!

Even though it has proven its effectiveness in the 1/4 mile, our heat exchanger really shines on the street. On an 80 degree day your lightning's air charge temp cruising down the street is an average of 95 degrees. With an 8 LB. pulley combo if you do a wide open throttle at the top of 3rd gear (5300 RPM's) you will see an air charge temp of 165 degrees. Now with the JDM heat exchanger you will see your air charge drop down to 105 degrees. That is a 60 degree drop in temperature!!!!

Now for you people running powercoolers this heat exchanger will be an added bonus for you. This unit will keep your temperatures the same from starting line to finish line!

The new JDM heat exchanger with all necessary mounting brackets are now in stock and shipping for only $465.00 plus shipping. Call JDM at 732/780/0770 and speak to one of our friendly sales staff guys to order your's today. You can find pictures of the unit below.

Thanks,

Jim@JDM

Just ordered one. Looks good and I need something for the high speed freeway blasts.

edit: I meant freeway, right at the speed limit, in the slow lane, not passing anyone blasts.

After having one on my truck for a short while I can attest to it's effectiveness. Unfortunately, my testing came to an abrupt stop on Nov. 5th but I won't hesitate to buy a new one.

It get's a thumbs up from Uncle Rob

I guess it would be better with a fan behind it. Then again you might be able to not have a fan at all with that setup...

Actually didn't MM/FF do some data logging on IC temps with different boost levels awhile back? I can't remember what the results were...

June 2002 MM&FF page 226:

The Eaton peaked out at 207 degrees while the temperature exiting the more efficient Autorotor only reached 165 degrees. The difference in charge temperature between the two supercharges was a full 42 degrees. Lucky for the Lightning owners, the intercooler used on the 5.4 is exceptional and the charge temperatures existing the intercooler core were nearly identical.
We have praised the efficiency of the (late model) intercooler system employed on the Lightning and for good reason. Check out the results of this test...

...What was real impressive was the fact that the charge temperature at 21.6 psi reached 320 degrees exiting the blower but was reduced to peak of just 106 degrees. The stock intercooler system running ambient water (no ice water tricks) pulled out over 200 degrees of charge temperature. I guess Ford suspected Lightning owners might be subjecting their trucks to some abuse.
