Harley Pinstripe

SO, after seeing Harley's post, with the Flareside pickup that has the Harley flamed pinstripe, I decided to check it out a little further...

I thought "How awesome would the red pinstripe look on my friggin' truck??"

SO, I go to my dad's body shop this morning, and pull out the Mitchell book.... The Harley pinstripes are $246 PER SIDE!!!!

Almost crapped my pants when I saw that one....

Needless to say, I scrapped THAT idea....

I would just go to a pro pin striper and have them do a custom job. they should be able to do it for less then 500 bucks easy!!!!!

Yeah, I emailed a place near me that does vinyl, to see if they can reproduce it. Waiting on an email back... Crap, for that, I'd just paint it on...

I didn't even bother to call and see what I can actually GET it for... At a list of $246 per side, it's not even worth exploring!

painting it on might be a good option too, but I think a vinal shop should be able to make that really really easy.

HEY now... We're not talking about a 'Type R' sticker. That's the only sticker that puts out enough power to be worth THAT much!

anybody have any idea about how much it would run to get the single red 3mm pinstripe on my truck painted on? i've been thinking about getting it done, but haven't made up my mind yet.

the 500 buck price is the dealer's rip off cost. If you know the right people or whatever, you should be able to get BOTH sides for half of that or less

Yeah, I know how that is... Darn lazy friends not doing favors quickly enough!

Otherwise, I'm painting my interior tomorrow - I was hoping to be able to put on my Harley stripes too, but they won't be ready for a few days....

Once I pick up the stripes and see the quality of them, I'll slap them on and post pics. I preferred the look of the outline flame on the black Harley, as upposed to the filled flame on the grey. SO, I ordered it in the outline, out of dark red.

one problem, you'd have a black outline around the flames and inside the flames on the red set, and a dsg ouline around the maroon flames. its not just the flames on the pinstriping, its either black backround and trim on teh red outline flames, or DSG trim around the maroon flames

here's a few more pics of his L

he didn't use a piece of the stripes from the rear door because they come precut and i guess he didn't want to piece it on the bed. the flames end too soon on the truck IMO
