A friend is installing 4.10's today in his '02, and offered me his old 3.73's since I have an '00. He has 12k miles, should there be any problems with the gears or any negative signs to look for? will I need an install kit for this? Thanks.

 

I d/k any details about the swap but several guys here have done it.

Check the wear pattern on the ring gear. Should be uniform all the way around. You will need a shim kit, but Iam not sure if you need to user a new pinion nut
