Kenne Bell Dyno #s

I had the truck on the dyno on Friday with the Kenne Bell. The truck has only a Swanson chip, Swanson Air filter and a Accufab throttle body. Here are the results, 459 RWHP and 530 LB FT TQ. Those are all SAE #s done on a Dynojet Dyno. My A/F ratio was 11.7 all the way.

kenne bell

I was running a 3" upper and no lower. I did the install in about 4 hours. I installed it for an article for Ford Truck World Magazine. My truck will be featured in the March 2003 issue. The pully is almost the same size as the stock eaton. The install took place at Swanson Performance in Torrance, California. (310) 787-7800. Oh yeah the install is easly accomplished with common tools.

How much boost?

So how much boost (psi) do those pulleys work out to?

To give you an idea....I run a JLP 6lb lower and KB 3.25" upper and see under 18psi.

smknjoe,
That is excellent numbers for almost stock boost!

That doesn't seem like to much boost for that pulley combo? what does JL run to go 10's?

RTKILLA,

The new KB makes more boost than the prototype. JL has run 10's w/ a bunch of different pulley combos, but 20-23psi will get you there w/ the the right mods. With a 6lb lower you will will see over 20psi by just dropping to a 2.75...the uppers get pretty small, so you can probably get 25psi or more with a 6lb lower. Step up to a 8lb lower and watch out.

17PSI

Doing some quick math, assuming a 9" lower and a 3.25 upper gets you 18psi, a 7.4 (stock) lower and a 3 upper will give you (conservatively) 16psi. or the equivilent of a 10lb lower on a stock eaton.

That seems almost exactly the kind of numbers I would expect from a 10lb pulley. Am I wrong?

Coldie (who REALLY wants to justify a new blower)

wouldn't 16 lbs be seen from an 8# taking into acct. that the stock is worth 8psi of boost?

pet peeve..

hahaha. I just wrote up a long explanation about how I did my numbers then I realized what you are saying. Yes, 16psi would be an 8lb lower.

Hmm...

So what kind of power is expected out of an 8lb pulley?

I'm putting down 427hp out of a 2lb'er but I've done a lot of things to my truck.

Thinking about it, it looks like the KB resulted in some good power gains.
