green fluid resevoir on right front (intake side)

I'm tryin to put my bulbs in without taking the housings out, I can do it on the left side, but the fluid resevoir is blocking the right headlamp. I took the two bolts holding it on off but I still can't wiggle it outl. I only need it out for like 2 minutes, any suggestions?

No bolts holding the head lights in. Two tabs on top. Pull them up and the head light comes out the front.

this I know, but I don't want to go this route, I saw some ford techs try and get the headlight housing back in and they had to take the front end off just to do it. I know its probably easy but I tried this already and had to have them put it back in, I just couldn't get the housing back in.....resevoir anyone?

The resivor is your radiator. Green stuff is anti-freeze.

Well that'd be the last time they ever touched my truck!

I can't help with the antifreeze reservoir removal but I changed my bulbs by taking the housings out, took all of 10 minutes.

pull the tabs up & pull the headlight assembly out.. change bulb & reinstall headlight.. show so-called "techs" how to do it. LOL

if not, buy me a round trip ticket and i'll come up there and teach you how to do it.

Pull the tabs out!!! I would not want to remove the antifreeze reservoir.

Angry Sheesh!!!!!!

It scares me to think of bringing my truck(s) to a Ford dealer who couldn't figure out how to remove/replace the headlight assy. Christ, the inistructions (with pictures) are in the owners manual. Unless there's some part of this story I'm missing (front end damage or whatever), performing this job is VERY easy. Yeah, ya gotta be firm with the tabs, but even so....

gettin it out isn't the problem....getting it back in is the problem.

InS0mNiAc,

Its really not that hard, take the housing out, change your bulb then line up the rods and slide it back in. The worst that happens is the rods don't go straight in, slide it back out eye the rods up and slide it back in....The techs you watched must have been *****.

after eyeing the problem for a while I will just pull the clips out, but I want to pull the turn signal assembly out also so I can get my hands in there a little better, does anyone know what size torx head screwdriver is needed for this screw?

I can understand this. I've done it a ton now playing with the looks of my truck and I still hate removing the headlights.

Just an FYI, its easier to put the headlight back in if you remove the turn signal while its out, gives your more room to line things up and see if the bolts are going in the holes. Also note, that it is easier if you align the outside to bolts before the inside single bolt.

There is a bolt on the resvoir, if you remove that one bolt, you'll be able to lean the resevoir back. (you do this when you remove the front end of the truck anyway)
