Over Inflated Tires

Is there any danger to OVER inflating tires? I took my truck in for an oil change (I know, should have done it myself, but I'm lazy) and they checked the tire pressure, and inflated them to 40... I let them down to 32

overinflation=firmer ride + tire wear in the center of the tread. Keep em around 33-35 youll be fine

32 is where all 4 tires are supposed to be for daily driving - I think everyone has found this works best, and it's also what Ford put on the door pillar for recommended pressure.

I do inflate the rear tires to maximum posted on the tire (44 psi) when I am towing, or have heavy stuff in the bed though...

I put mine at 40-42 psi to autocross... so it depends on what you are doing. 22 psi at the track for the back, front at 38-40. 32 or so for normal use.

And don't forget temperature considerations.....Tirerack.com has a pretty informative download that discusses wheel/tire care, etc.
