????'s on storing tires

Just needed some advice from you pros out there, how do you store your mounted tires/slicks when they're not in use. Do you stand them up side by side, or do you lay they flat, one on top of the other. These are for my drag radials that only get used once in a while. Thanks in advance.

I am buying new ones for next year, but if not I would lay them flat in my spare room and I would cover them.

Tire compounds do not respond well to big weather changes.

I bought a set of tires about 3 years ago from NTB. I asked them how should I store them. (I won't be putting them on till my lease runs out in Jan 2003) They said to store them on the sidewalls. (Flat) I have done that now for 3 years in my garage with carpet on the floor, and I switch them around every year. So far so good, they go on next week, and still look and feel fine. I hope this helps you in someway.
