I have a 97 F150 4.2 v6 automatic, about 140,000 miles. When I shift into reverse it has no power, it kind of shimmys, and shakes. The other gear work okay it's just in reverse that's giving me fits. I checked the fluid still red and no burnt smell. I did notice some leaking going on but it doesn't leave a puddle, it's basically on the area around the transmission. Fluid level is still good. Recently it has slipped on occasion, and about 6 weeks ago I replaced the egr feedback sensor it seemed to help but I still had slipping issues from time to time.

Hi. I saw some of your posts and thought you might be able to help if you have the chance! I have a 02 F150, v8 5.4. The hose on the ac has a hole in it. I purchased a new ac manifold assembly and my husband is suppose to switch them out for me tomorrow. When I picked it up from the dealer he made it sound like it was not going to be something my husband would be able to do. I believe there is a special tool to do this...Can you tell me what that tool is and do you have any tips or ideas in regards to this? Thank you so much for your time.

I have a 97 F150, v-6 4.2 l engine automatic. Recently I notice the a/c going from panel to defrost. Going to Columbus yesterday as long as the engine was under light load the engine/transmission was fine but when trying to excelorate or slowly down (no braking applied) it would jerk. I suspect a bad vacuum pump but I have no idea where it's located or what it looks like. Can you enlighten me?

Hey, you have one of the early '97 models right?? How did you get the L headlights to work? My buddy has an early '97 and is wanting to upgrade.
