I got my stereo installed this weekend. The only thing that I am still waiting on is the rear view camera. It looks great and with all of the postings, pictures, and help I found here, I was able to get it all installed without a hitch. (even found out how to install the head unit so I can play video while driving).
Check out some pictures here:

It's a sweet *** unit isn't it? I want the TV tuner too but too tapped for cash right now. Kenwood sure charges for the tv tuner.

It's definitely the best head unit that I've put in yet. I'm still getting used to it and figuring out all of the controls. I'm sure that I'll have a lot more to get used to once I get the back up camera installed. Hoping that it will come today so that I can get that in soon.
I love the Music Keg. A little slow downloading mp3s onto the cartridge since its only USB 1.0, but I've got all of my music on it now. No more changing CDs while driving for me.

Question Can the steering wheel controls still be used ?

If I go with the Kenwood DDX7015 Double-DIN will my steering wheel audio controls still function????
I have a 2005 F-150 KingRanch.

No unless you get the IR repeater, then yes. I got it installed on mine. Only minor gripe is that since it's IR, it's not as sensitive when changing the volume as it was when it was wired.

Someone was asking about the eclipse AVN2454...

One word... AWESOME!!!

This thing rocks. The Nav is excellent and the stereo is twice that of the Ford Premium HU... The all-in-one makes it a perfect option.

My .02

I would sure like to know what happened with that camera b/w issue, because I just bought the same item on eBay, of course the AVN may not have the same issue as the Kenwood.

I got my rear view camera from Fed Ex yesterday and got it all installed. It looks and works great. Thanks for all the help that I found here. I've posted pictures at: http://fordtruckworld.tenmagazines.c...y.ten?id=12423 in the Stereo Install gallery.

Which camera did you go with? I'd considering installing 2, 1 for truck and 1 on trailer. Will need a RCA splitter, one with a remote to switch if it's not too pricey.

SWI-X

How are you guys wiring in the SWI?

I have an '05 (same wiring as '04).

Which wire on the audio harness controls the steering wheel controls?

Same question but in regards to reverse sensing. Is there a wire in the audio loom for this?

Thanks!

I had mine installed. I would like for the reverse system to be tied in cause I did loose the audio muting that I had.

I have not minded too much since I don't typically blast my radio so I can still hear the warning beeps.

I found the answer to my question here:

http://www.pac-audio.com/swixprogram...ehicles&ID=244

If the link doesn't open copy and paste it into a new browser window.

Anyone have an answer in regards to a reverse wire in the audio loom?

Thanks!

The camera I install, I got off of eBay. It is a BackUp Rear View Color Camera Waterproof 17ft Cable from seller millennium-lab. The same seller has several more of the same camera available to buy on eBay. Just do a search for that seller's items and you should be able to find it without a problem.
Here's a link:

Here is a link that should work for the PAC SWI-X installation guide for the 2004-05 F150 Steering Wheel controller.
