big problems from new intake
I just got a new airforce one intake for my 98 f150 4.6 and I am having clearance problems. The air filter wants to rub on some of the wiring harnesses on the fender and an allen bolt near the back. Is anyone else having this problem? In a matter of two weeks, the harness has worn the mesh a little causing it to fray and is starting to kill the cotton gauze.
I am getting frustrated with the fact that this is a new intake which, by the way, is installed correctly. If anyone has any ideas on how to fix this or stop the wear, it will be more than appreciated.

Easy.
If adjusting the mounting bracket upwards, doesn't work out do this...
1. Loosen both clamps on the blue rubber connector (connects MAF to elbow)
2. Lift filter UP until it clears the harness wires below (clearance about 1/4 inch above the wires).
3. While holding the filter in the correct position with one hand, realign and retighten both clamps from step 1 above.
4. Start engine.
4. Recheck for leaks and realign and retighten clamps if neccessary.
That should do it, that's what I did as I also have the 4.6L.
