Unhappy Aftermarket Tach

I am trying to install an aftermarket tach in my 2003 F150, 4.2 V6. There are four wires on the tach. One Red(power), one Black(Ground), one White(Backlight), and one Green(RPM). My question involves the green wire. Where do I hook it, to get a RPM reading. Any help will be appreciated.

Thanks

You can try pin # 48 on the PCM connector. If the wire is missing, you will need to buy a pin for the connector, and put it into the conector.

This is assuming that it is the correct Tach for the truck year. You did not post a mfgr name and model # so I am guessing you have the correct tach setup for the year truck you have.

Unhappy Aftermarket Tach

Thanks for your feedback. The type of Tach I purchased is a:

Sunpro-Sun super tach II.

I don't have a serial number for it, but according to the back of the package it works on 4, 6, or 8 cylinder, 12-volt engines.

Also where is the PCM connector. Is it on the inside or in the engine commpartment on the passenger side.

Thanks again for any info.
