Post Spark Plug Gap

I have a question regarding spark plug gapping and what happens when it is opened beyond what is recommended. For example, I am currently running Chapmion Plat. plugs and Auto Zone said to set the gap at .030. I also have the MSD Blaster TFI coil and Magnecor 8mm wires. I think that with the coil and wires it should produce enough power to jump a larger gap. But, what's the point? More power? Better gas milage? How much more can I open the gap? Any information would be greatly appreciated!

Neal

Wink

Usually whatever the manual says for your engine for the gap is what you set the plug at. Maybe you could try talking with the companys you got the coil or the wires from and see if they have any different recomendations. Or you could just buy like I did, a plug that you don't have to gap.

I think you may now hold the record for reviving the oldest thread, even though by accident. LOL
