I have a 1998 F-150 4x4 with a 4.6L Triton V-8. I am running everything stock, and it has no modifications. How much horsepower do you think that I have?

 

About 220 if you are lucky! 218-219 or so if I remember correctly.

But thats also just engine hp...what really counts is real wheel hp/torque, but i haven't seen too many people post their dyno numbers...if there are any on here.

How true! I have heard some figures like 175 hp for 4.6L's at the rear wheel on a dino. Anyone else?

 

I have the original '97 F-150 brochure I kept when I bought my truck new back in April 96. The following powertrain specifications are listed:

4.6L SEFI Triton V-8:
Bore x stroke: 3.55 x 3.54
Compression ration: 9.1.0
Fuel injection system: Sequential electronic
Horse power: 210@4,400 rpm
Torque, lbs/ft.: 290@3,250

4.2L SEFI Triton V-6:
Bore x stroke: 3.81 x 3.74
Compression ration: 9.3.1
Fuel injection system: Sequential electronic
Horse power: 205@4,400 rpm/210@5,000 rpm
Torque, lbs/ft.: 255@3,3,000

The 5.4L was not available when I bought mine. Also, I don't know of the changes (if any) since the '97 model year.
